BBC Studios announced the launch of BBC First linear channel with Orange Moldova, one of the major operators in the CEE region, marking the premium British drama channel's debut in the market. BBC First joins already present on the platform BBC News channel, and it is now available to all subscribers of their digital cable TV service.

Home of original, innovative and premium British drama, BBC First provides audiences with unforgettable stories that challenge, immerse and entertain, coupled with A-list and award-winning talent in front of and behind the camera. BBC First provides viewers with lighter entertainment that can help them unwind and detach from everyday life but can also serve the needs of those that expect complex characters, smartly twisted narratives, raw and unfiltered reality and emotional depth that keeps them challenged and intrigued.

The channel debuts with a selection of critically acclaimed and popular dramas. All programming will be available in English with Romanian subtitles.

“I am really glad to see further expansion of BBC First in the region and reaching even more homes with our top-notch British drama. I am confident that Orange Moldova viewers will appreciate the variety of productions with truly addictive narratives, exceptional writing and acting, and stunning cinematography. BBC First has something for those seeking thought-provoking and boundary-pushing content, but is equally compelling for viewers seeking soothing relaxation,”  said Zbigniew Pruski, Commercial Director CEE at BBC Studios.
