NTV'S 5G STUDIO
NTV Broadcasting Company has launched a cutting-edge 5G studio during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that took place from June 2nd to 5th. With this initiative, the company showed the possibilities afforded by this technology standard in TV broadcasting. Over the course of the event, state-of-the-art broadband networks were used to produce newscasts online.
The last day of the forum was marked by an unprecedented live broadcast from downtown St. Petersburg, where an NTV correspondent talked to the anchorwoman and conducted a speed test to demonstrate the advantages of 5G.
NTV had built a fully functioning TV complex equipped with 5G networks, allowing all the visitors to see NTV’s groundbreaking 360°, 8K-definition projects, such as excerpts from the Victory Day Parade 2021, the ‘Brest 360. A Panorama of War’ documentary, and some footage shot during the forum.
To illustrate the difference between 4G and its successor, NTV had installed a split screen contrasting and comparing the two. The video content received through 5G was then being edited in real time.
