Univision's TUDN reported a large viewership spike this past weekend, benefiting from the exclusivity of airing renowned tournaments Copa América, Euro, and Gold Cup, all of which took place in a single weekend for the first time.
The programming lineup began with a Copa América match between Argentina and Brazil, which garnered 3.5 million viewers over the age of 2, including 1.7 million adults between the ages 18-49 on Univision, reflecting a double-digit spike since 2019’s match on Telemundo, and the fifth most-watched program of the week.
The Quarterfinal Round saw similar engagement, averaging 1.8 million total viewers, including 907,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 49 throughout its 8 matches. The 28 Copa América matches accumulated a total of 1.1 viewers.
Sunday consisted of the 2020 Euro Cup, during which nearly 3 million viewers tuned in as Italy took home the win following its match with England at the Wembley Stadium. As a result, the match became the most-watched Euro match on Spanish-language television in the U.S. The Euro on Univision’s networks combined to deliver an average of 1.2 million viewers.
The Gold Cup aired on Univision, garnering 2.4 million total viewers and reaching the 7th slot for most-watched shows of the week. The USMNT tournament also debuts on Sunday, receiving 1.3 million total viewers.
