Global independent content distributor GoQuest Media has concluded a deal with Brazilian streaming platform Globoplay. The agreement sees Globoplay acquire exclusive streaming rights to the intriguing Serbian drama “Civil Servant,” a spy thriller produced by Telekom Srbija and Film Danas.

Created and produced by Predrag Antonijevic and directed by Miroslav Lekic and Ivan Zivkovic, “Civil Servant” is a gripping thriller series that follows a young, ambitious Serbian Secret Service (BIA) agent, Lazar Stanojević, as he negotiates the rules of the international spy game in the modern world. He quickly learns that all is not what it seems, and he is left fighting the distrust that he has for everything he thought to be true. Despite this, his sense of duty still makes him make dangerous decisions to try to protect his nation, his family and himself.

Telekom Srbija, in co-operation with Film Danas, has recently commenced filming of the third season. The highly anticipated crime series will air on one of Serbia’s most-watched TV channels, Superstar TV, mid 2022.

“The Serbian Secret Service thriller ‘Civil Servant’ is part of an important strategy to bring to our audiences a great portfolio of global series, with content from different countries, but with interesting and universal themes,”  commented Antonio Augusto Valente, Content Strategy Manager at Globoplay.

Jimmy George, Vice President, Sales & Acquisitions at GoQuest Media, added: “What a brilliant debut for ‘Civil Servant’ in Latin America, and we’re so glad that this captivating series has found its home with Globoplay. We hope Brazilian audiences root for the protagonist Lazar as they discover great and unique locations, engage with the characters and enjoy the novelty of learning the workings of an intelligence network that is quite unfamiliar”.
