ABC Commercial has sealed a raft of international deals for flagship preschool series "Beep and Mort" in Canada, the UK, the Middle East and North Africa. Since the series made its international debut at MIPJunior last year, both seasons have been acquired by WildBrain Television for broadcast on its premium kids network Family Jr. Season 1 premiered in early September, and Season 2 is due to follow in Spring 2024.

“We’re thrilled that Family Jr. is the Canadian broadcast home to this charming series,” said Katie Wilson, VP, Channels and Global Acquisitions at WildBrain Television. “We instantly fell in love with the cuddly cast of characters and are excited to take our audiences along on Beep and Mort’s wildly imaginative adventures.”

ABC Commercial has also finalised a deal with Sky Kids in the UK for Season 2, which will be set to premiere in early 2024. Season 1 was one of the first programs to air on the Sky Kids ad-free linear channel aimed at pre-schoolers, which launched earlier this year, as well as being available to watch on-demand for Sky Kids customers.

Lucy Murphy, Director of Sky Kids said "We’re delighted to bring more episodes of this gorgeous series to Sky. Our audiences have fallen in love with Beep, Mort and their beautiful friendship and we know they will love these new adventures too”.

A further deal just inked with beIN Media Group, Qatar will see "Beep and Mort" available to kids and families throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Launching in 2024 on the beIN NEO channel, "Beep and Mort" will be available in both English and Arabic via both broadcast and on-demand services.

LOCAL AUDIENCE
Premiering on ABC Kids in Australia in October 2022, "Beep and Mort" won over local fans with its endearing portrayal of the friendship between best friends Beep, a robot from the stars, and Mort, a cuddly creature from village of Mollyvale - so much so that the ABC Kids team fast-tracked development and commissioning of a second season, which premiered in Australia in November.

"Continuing to explore themes around friendship and self-discovery, this second season of 'Beep and Mort' introduces a host of new characters and locations and doubles down on the fun. The level of care invested by the team at Windmill Pictures in creating this enticing story world is second-to-none, and we're very pleased to see kids and families around the world open their hearts to this special program," said Karen Quinn, Manager Content Sales, ABC Commercial.

Produced by Windmill Pictures, "Beep and Mort" is directed by Rosemary Myers ("Girl Asleep"), produced by Kaye Weeks, features production design by the AACTA award-winning Jonathon Oxlade ("Girl Asleep") and original music by Harry Covill ("Girl Asleep").
