All3Media International has announced new deals for both seasons of "The Gold," with a host of European partners acquiring Tannadice Pictures’ critically acclaimed crime drama. International distribution is being handled by All3Media International.

"The Gold" is written by Neil Forsyth ("Guilt," "Eric, Ernie & Me") and is produced by Tannadice Pictures, the joint venture between Neil Forsyth and Objective Fiction, part of Objective Media Group, an All3Media Company. Season one launched in the UK on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, attracting 8.7 million viewers for its first episode, and was nominated in the Drama Series categories at this year’s BAFTA TV Awards and RTS Television Awards

First look images and further casting for the second series of "The Gold" have also been released. Inspired by the true story of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery and the decades-long chain of events that followed, the new six-part series is from award-winning writer Neil Forsyth ("Guilt," "Eric, Ernie & Me") and is produced by Tannadice Pictures, part of Objective Media Group in association with All3Media International, for the BBC.

The next wave of European deals builds on a strong round of global pre-sales. In North America, both seasons have been snapped up by PBS’s "MASTERPIECE" for audiences in the U.S. and English-speaking Canada, while CBC Gem has secured VOD rights for the latter. Beyond North America, the series has garnered significant interest worldwide, with both seasons acquired by MagentaTV/Telekom in Germany, Stan in Australia, Rialto Channel in New Zealand, BBC Studios for Asia and India, and ERR in Estonia.

Newly announced sales will see season one traveling to Portugal on RTP2, to Ireland on RTE, and to Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina on Pickbox NOW and Pickbox TV. Season two will air on NPO in the Netherlands, COSMOTE TV in Greece, and MTV in Finland.

In addition to this next round of sales, new first look pictures show previously announced returning cast, Hugh Bonneville (Brian Boyce), Charlotte Spencer (Nicki Jennings), Emun Elliott (Tony Brightwell), Tom Cullen (John Palmer), Stefanie Martini (Marnie Palmer), and Sam Spruell (Charlie Miller) as the investigation around what happened to the gold continues to unfold. Additional returning cast includes Peter Davison (Assistant Commissioner Gordon Stewart), Amanda Drew (CS Cath McClean), and Silas Carson (Harry Bowman).

The new pictures also show some new cast joining series two, including: Tom Hughes ("The English," "Victoria"), Stephen Campbell Moore ("Downton Abbey," "War of the Worlds"), Joshua McGuire ("Cheaters," "Anatomy of a Scandal"), Tamsin Topolski ("Guilt," "The Rock"), Joshua Samuels ("Saltburn," "Unexpecting"), and Rochelle Neil ("Three Little Birds," "The Nevers"). New cast for series two also includes Antonia Desplat ("The Letter for the King," "Shantaram"), Lorna Brown ("The Batman," "Hard Cell"), Thomas Coombes ("Boiling Point," "Save Me"), Sean Teale ("Rosaline," "Reign"), and Olivia Grant ("Stardust," "All the Money in the World") with further details of their roles to be revealed in due course.

Neil Forsyth, Writer and Executive Producer, celebrated the great reception of the title:"The response to the first series of 'The Gold' has been incredible, and to see the show continue to spread around the world thanks to our partners at All3Media International is thrilling for all of us who worked so hard on the show. The second and final part of 'The Gold' sees the story of the Brink’s-Mat robbery, and everything that stemmed from it, become even more expansive, surprising, and international. We are delighted with the results and look forward to the second series being released around the world later this year," expressed.

Following the conviction of some of those involved in the theft and handling of the Brink’s-Mat gold, the police (Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Emun Elliott) realized that those criminals only ever had half of it. Series two explores what happened to the other half and the criminal fortune it created. As the police investigation continues, it becomes a tense, high-stakes journey into international money laundering and organized crime. The police embark on a series of dramatic manhunts as they desperately try to solve the longest and most expensive investigation in the history of the Metropolitan Police.
