Independent distributor All3media International has signed its first deal with Pickbox NOW, it announced today at Mipcom, as more than 25 hours of premium drama head to the SVOD service.
SVOD platform Pickbox NOW, which launched in 2014 and covers Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, has acquired the first six-part instalment of “Blood,” a Company Pictures' production. Channel 5’s top rated drama series of 2018, the psychological thriller stars Adrian Dunbar and Carolina Main. All3media international will launch a brand-new second series at Mipcom.
The deal features four titles from leading scripted label Two Brothers Pictures, including “Back to Life,” the latest comedy from the Fleabag producers; and primetime drama thrillers “Baptiste,” “Strangers,” and “Cheat”. All titles were produced in association with All3media International.
Ranka Horvat, Acquisition Specialist at Pickbox NOW, commented: “I’m very pleased to work with the All3media International team on our first drama acquisition – their portfolio is packed with premium scripted titles from the best producers in the business. Strong partnerships with forward-thinking, dynamic distributors such as All3media International are vital to our ongoing strategy to deliver exciting, intriguing and innovative content to Pickbox NOW’s growing subscriber base”.
Anna Maslowska, Sales Executive at All3media International, added: “The Pickbox NOW team recognise the ever-growing demand for quality drama and are tailoring a new way of watching TV for audiences across the region. It’s great to partner with Pickbox NOW in our first collaboration and we look forward to working with them in the future as their success continues”.
FIRST FORMAT DEAL FOR "DIARY OF AN UBER DRIVER”
Meanwhile, All3media International has also secured the first scripted format adaptation of hit Australian comedy drama “Diary of an Uber Driver”, it announced today, as Germany’s Joyn orders a local version.
Originally produced by Revlover Films for ABC Australia in association with All3media International and Create NSW, “Diary of an Uber Driver” is a character-driven comedy drama drawn from true stories, based on the hugely popular blog and e-book by Ben Phillips. Following its launch as a scripted format earlier this year, the first international remake has now been commissioned in Germany by Joyn, the recently established regional streaming service backed by Discovery and ProSiebenSat.1.
Stephen Driscoll, EVP EMEA & European Co-Productions at All3media International, said: “We’re pleased to confirm our first international partnership on ‘Diary of an Uber Driver’ with Joyn and Bon Voyage and share their excitement to see the production launch next year. We’ve received strong interest in this heart-warming scripted format since our initial pitch in Vienna, and we’re actively in development with other international territories to bring it to many more screens around the world in the very near future. Revlover Films are working hard on the season two script development so we can all find out what adventures life holds in store for these engaging characters very soon”.
