Banijay Entertainment announced Banijay Italia will produce "Starstruck" for Warner Bros. Discovery airing on Nove, bringing the hit entertainment format to Italian audiences for the first time.
Francesco Lauber, Chief Creative Officer of Banijay Italia says: “Starstruck is a celebration of music, talent, and transformation. Italian audiences love high-energy competitions, and with its mix of incredible performances and emotional moments, this adaptation is set to become must-watch TV.”
Lucas Green, Chief Content Officer, Operations, Banijay Entertainment says: “The enduring appeal of this format lies in its ability to captivate audiences globally, with its vibrant performances and spectacular transformations. This seventh market reimagination demonstrates 'Starstruck' continues to prove its strength and adaptability worldwide and we look forward this version coming to life.”
In "Starstruck," trios of ordinary people with extraordinary talent take to the stage, teaming up to transform into some of the world’s most significant music icons. Singing live, they battle against rival groups, with only one spot up for grabs in the grand finale. The winning trio then competes against each other for a shot at securing the cash prize.
This marks the seventh version of the show, which was originally created by Banijay UK’s Remarkable Entertainment. Since its launch in the UK on ITV and ITVX, "Starstruck" has won over audiences in Chile, Bulgaria, Belgium, Denmark, and most recently, Portugal, where its debut drew an 11% audience share, making it the most-watched prime-time show of the evening.
Banijay Italia is home to a rich slate of titles which includes reality favourites "L’Isola dei Famosi," "Il Collegio" and "Pechino Express"; game shows "L’Eredità," "Guess my age" and "100% Italia"; leading cooking shows "4 Ristoranti," "Bake Off Italia," "Celebrity Chef" and "Foodish"; comic show "GialappaShow" and "Comedy Match"; popular talent shows "La Corrida"; documentary "Unica," series "Ilary" and "The Ferragnez."
