Escapade Media has secured representation across France and French-speaking territories with Charo Penedo from Sureal TV. This is a significant step forward for Escapade, which will now see the company represented in all major European territories as the company continues to expand across the distribution of completed content but also across the development side of the business, which of late, has seen the company partner on several premium dramas from the UK and US.

Charo Penedo has a 20 year career in international TV distribution and acquisitions. Currently based in Madrid (Spain), she developed her professional life in London, working for independent producers such as TV Corporation and Optomen TV, to finally make it into Discovery Networks distribution team, specialising in Southern Europe. Since 2019 she has become a consultant under her Surreal TV brand, handling clients such as Cineflix Rights and most recently WBD., as well as independent international producers and distributors.

Charo Penedo, Owner of Sureal TV, comments: “I’m delighted to join Escapade Media and their team of such talented professionals. In the current landscape of mergers and acquisitions being independent has become a luxury. Being able to work with an ever-growing slate of titles, genres and international producers is thrilling. Thank you for having me”.

Natalie Lawley, Escapade Media Managind Director states: “After searching for a representation for these territories for some time, Escapade is thrilled to have Charo on board. We fully appreciate Charo’s experience and expertise in these regions and are so looking forward to working together.”
