Entertainment company CJ ENM has been delegated as a top distributor of Asian formats, according to K7 Media’s latest “Tracking the Giants Report Asia edition” presentation delivered at the 2024 Busan Content Market. Along with global distributors such as Sony Pictures Television, Banijay, and Fremantle, CJ ENM has distributed the most Asian formats last year, including “I Can See Your Voice” and “My Boyfriend is Better”.

“I Can See Your Voice”, which first premiered on CJ ENM’s affiliate music channel Mnet in February 2015, celebrated its 10th season last year in Korea. The constant prosperity of the show’s format has also been showcased globally, with the Season 3 remake being performed on one of the biggest US broadcasting stations, FOX. The show’s ongoing popularity also seems prominent in multiple Asian regions, with more than 300 episodes being aired and produced by the Philippines’ ABS-CBN and the Season 7 premiere on Malaysia’s TV3. Additionally, the European and Latin American entertainment markets aim to carry on with the “I Can See Your Voice” trend. From the 5th season remake on the Netherlands’ RTL4 to the Season 3 launch on Belgium’s VTM, the show is expanding its boundaries in Latin American regions by being televised on Mexico’s Televisia and Uruguay’s Teledoce.

Moreover, “My Boyfriend is Better” has been commissioned by Thailand’s Workpoint TV and Brazil’s Globo. The show has recently sparked up a monumental first format licensing agreement between CJ ENM and Vietnam’s leading IPTV & OTT services, FPT Play, manifesting its undeniable hype in the global format industry.

Also, the company announced that “The Genius Game”, the survival show tests the intelligence of the nation’s most brilliant minds which first aired on CJ ENM’s K-Content channel tvN in April 2013, has been commissioned for ITV (UK) and NPO (Netherlands).

Regarding these achievements, Sebastian Kim, the Director of CJ ENM’s International Content Sales, stated: “CJ ENM’s formats have gained global success through presenting diverse, fresh, yet sympathetic elements that can be comprehended ubiquitously. While maintaining our prestige as a top distributor of Asian formats, we will continuously aim to become the No. 1 format distributor in the global industry as a leading entertainment company.”
