Global Israeli studio Sipur, Stampede Ventures and Mediawan Rights announced the option of the reality dating series format “Hungry For Love” to leading production companies in the UK and South Africa. Mediawan’s unscripted department will be actively selling the co-owned Stampede and Sipur format at Mipcom Cannes.

In detail, Objective and All3Media subsidiary Betty TV has optioned the rights for the UK, while the award-winning South African production company afrOkaans Film and Television has grabbed them for the local South African market.

“Betty TV in the UK and afrOkaans in South Africa have unparalleled track records selling quality unscripted productions into their respective markets. They make the perfect partners for this unique reality series that connects two of the greatest passions – food and love – into a unique psychological experiment,”  said Zipi Rozenblum, Head of Formats at Sipur and the creator of the show.

“Hungry for Love” centers around a group of singles with only one rule to follow: contestants must date in order to eat. No date, no food. These singles, guided by a professional therapist, will participate in the experiment and dine their way to love.

“‘Hungry for Love’ is a funny and emotional authentic journey that can speak to the hearts (and stomachs) of viewers around the world. It is a pleasure to take part in this journey with great partners like Betty TV and afrOkaans, as each company will put its own unique stamp on the format,”  commented Greg Silverman, Founder and CEO of Stampede Ventures.
