UK-based distributor DCD Rights announced series four of the premium music documentary series “The Great Songwriters,” produced by independent television production company JolyGood TV for Sky Arts in the UK.

In the show, legendary musicians and songwriters Kenny Loggins, Steve Earle, Mike Scott, Linda Perry, Ian McCulloch, and Tom Odell, discuss their creative processes and the inspirations behind their work. The stories behind exceptional songs are revealed such as Loggins’ “Footloose,” which was nominated for an Academy Award, Perry’s double platinum selling "Beautiful,” which has become an anthem for the LBGTQ community, and Odell’s “Another Love,” which recently amassed 1 billion streams on Spotify.

“The Great Songwriters” (6x60’ – 25 episodes now available, with 12x60’ episodes available in 4K) features four exclusive performances, alongside intimate original interviews with each subject. The wide range of artists featured results in an authoritative, fascinating and entertaining series – but the presenter-less format also allows each individual, hour-long film to reflect the songwriter’s unique personality, as they explain their work and passion in their own words.

“The Great Songwriters” (series 1-3), which showcase artists Barry Gibb, Carly Simon, Paul Heaton, Emeli Sandé, Noel Gallagher, Seal, and Bill Withers, amongst many others, have already sold to more than 150 territories including Sky Network TV (New Zealand), Ovation TV (United States), Music Air (Japan), Czech TV (Czech Republic), Directv (Latin America), Globosat (Brazil), and Spacewow (Italy), along with Proximus Pickx+ (Belgium), which has acquired all four series.

“Music programming goes from strength and strength, and we are delighted to add a fourth series of this popular brand to our ever-growing, unrivaled music portfolio. We are sure this new series will be as popular around the world as series 1-3 continue to be, alongside our other outstanding music documentaries,”  said James Anderson, Sales Manager at DCD Rights.
