"Drilo and The Gang"
Digitoonz Spain, part of Digitoonz Media & Entertainment, sealed a strategic agreement with "Drilo and The Gang", the company behind the renowned children's brand of the same name, led by composer Andrés Meseguer, and the production company Maskeline, for the co-development and global expansion of the IP.
"Drilo and The Gang", which began as a music project under the artistic direction of the renowned children’s composer Andrés Meseguer, blends original songs, dance, and theater. It has since become a prominent fixture in family entertainment across Spain, continuing its live tours across the territory. This collaboration marks a significant new phase in its evolution, with the aim of expanding its narrative universe and establishing it as a global, multi-format IP with a strong and recognizable identity within the children's entertainment ecosystem.
Maria Bonaria Fois, President of Digitoonz Spain, comments: “I am proud to announce this new partnership: 'Drilo and The Gang' is a project with a strong connection to its audience, and it represents a commitment to creating high-quality content. With the support of a top-tier creative team led by Andrés Meseguer, along with his collaborators Carmen García and Jesús Mondéjar, and our partners at Maskeline, we are ensuring the creation of a project with exceptional potential both within Spain and internationally.”
360° STRATEGY
The primary goal of this partnership is to expand Drilo and The Gang’s universe, introducing new formats and reinforcing its potential as a 360º brand. With a solid foundation among children and family audiences in Spain, the IP is now poised to take a major step towards international expansion.
As part of this strategic plan, a 3D animated series consisting of 26 episodes (7 minutes each) will be developed, targeting a preschool audience. This audiovisual adaptation will enhance the experience for young audiences, promoting values such as creativity, cooperation, and environmental responsibility.
Vikas Kumar, CEO & Founder of Digitoonz Media & Entertainment, adds: “At Digitoonz, we strongly believe in the power of IPs that combine authenticity, core values, and a long-term vision. 'Drilo and The Gang' embodies all of these qualities: a brand with a rich legacy, a deep connection with its audience, and extraordinary potential for global expansion. We are proud to be a part of this project and to continue supporting content that both inspires and entertains.”
Fina Martínez, founding partner and producer at Maskeline, adds: "When I first discovered the project, I immediately believed in the brand and its international potential. It’s an inspirational initiative for new generations. Today, at Maskeline, we’re thrilled to begin this journey alongside our partners Digitoonz and Andrés Meseguer."
NEW INITIATIVES
The global expansion strategy also includes bolstering the live show format — which has already garnered over 1,200 performances across Spain — and developing a range of derivative products, including licensing, merchandising, video games and theme parks.
In addition to its presence in theaters, schools, and educational institutions, the brand boasts a growing digital community: over 100,000 subscribers and 50 million views on YouTube, where its animated music videos featuring original songs have become highly popular. This unique blend of music, dance, and narrative has been made possible through the artistic direction of Andrés Meseguer, composer and creator of the Drilo universe, and his team led by Carmen García, Creative Director, and Jesús Mondéjar, Music Producer and Arranger.
Andrés Meseguer, author and composer of "Drilo and The Gang", shares: "These have been 20 years of hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice, culminating in this important collaboration agreement. We’re embarking on a new chapter with the best possible partners by our side. We share the mission of conveying values through music and our characters, and this step marks a milestone in our journey, as well as an opportunity to bring Drilo and The Gang to an international stage—always staying true to our educational and approachable essence."
