Eccho Rights has secured broadcasting deals for Turkish drama series, "Legacy" and "Redemption." “Daily drama series in Turkey have been pushing higher budget titles in the ratings for a number of years, and this is reflected in the international market where demand for reliable, long-running series continues to grow," Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama, Eccho Rights said.
"Legacy," a long-running hit set to start its fourth season later this month, has been picked up to air in Iraq on Kurdmax, Hungary on RTL Club and in Colombia on Caracol, bringing total sales to more than 55 countries worldwide. Meanwhile, "Redemption," which has just started its second season in Turkey following a breakthrough first year, will find new audiences in Bosnia Herzegovina on Hayat and North Macedonia on Kanal 5.
Both titles are produced by Karamel Yapim for Turkey’s Kanal 7. "'Legacy,' which is nearing 1000 episodes since 2020, and now Redemption, are high quality, high volume series that win viewers day after day," Özkubat said.
"Redemption" is the story of Orhun, a successful businessman, raised in a wealthy but loveless family. His sister Nihan left home to do volunteer work in Eritrea but is currently unreachable. Orhun decides to look for his sister and comes across Hira, a poor girl who’s been trafficked. After finding out Nihan was poisoned and killed by Hira on the behalf of the traffickers, Orhun breaks down. He hatches an evil plan to take Hira home with him, but rather than saving her he will make things even worse…
"Legacy" follows the fortunes of a family grieving the loss of a young mother; after Kevser’s death, Seher promises to take care of her nephew Yusuf - who lives with his uncle Yaman. Initially suspicious of Seher, an unlikely romance blossoms between the two. They look to build a new family for Yusuf - when tragedy strikes again… As Yaman and Yusuf try to rebuild their lives, a mysterious, beautiful stranger arrives on their doorstep.
