Espresso Media International has secured a wave of European sales for its latest factual slate, striking deals across Germany, Italy, and France for a diverse mix of science, history, and arts programming.
Germany’s ZDF/ZDFE have acquired "Roswell: The Final Evidence" (2 x 45’ / 1 x 86’) and "Foo Fighters" (2 x 45’), two titles that delve into historic and modern encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena. In "Roswell: The Final Evidence," Dr. David Hall and his team re-examine one of the most enduring UFO mysteries of all time, while "Foo Fighters" traces unexplained airborne sightings from World War II to contemporary military technologies, exploring how decades of secrecy have blurred the line between fact and fiction. In addition, Welt has picked up "A Message to the Stars" (1 x 52’), a timely documentary examining humanity’s efforts to detect alien life and the ways we might communicate if contact is ever made.
In Italy, public broadcaster RAI has acquired "Decoding Turner" (1 x 90’ / 1 x 55’ / 1 x 105’), an arts documentary that investigates the potential hidden codes in the works of J.M.W. Turner. Featuring academics, art historians, and two amateur enthusiasts, the film sheds new light on the painter’s iconic works, uncovering unseen details that may transform how Turner’s legacy is interpreted.
Meanwhile, in France, Mediawan has taken a package of space and history titles, including "Off Earth" (1 x 52’ HD), which explores the private space race and the billionaires driving the new era of commercial spaceflight, and "JFK: 24 Hours that Changed the World" (1 x 46’ HD), a documentary chronicling the final day of President John F. Kennedy’s life before his assassination.
The new wave of sales underscores Espresso Media International’s growing footprint in the European factual content market, further diversifying its portfolio across multiple genres and major broadcasters.
