Fiction Valley inks deal with Pieter Bart Korthuis

The three-year deal is to develop and produce an innovative slate of new scripted drama series.

Fiction Valley inks a three-year deal with screewriter and director Pieter Bart Korthuis. The agreement is to develop and produce an innovative slate of new scripted drama series. Korthuis collaborated with Annemieke van Vliet and the Fiction Valley team as the creator and showrunner on the international hit Netflix Original Series “Dirty Lines” and the new deal will further solidify their innovative creative partnership.
 
“Fiction Valley has proven to be a company that puts talent first. It was because of the support of Annemieke van Vliet I felt confident enough to develop such a challenging and fun show like Dirty Lines. I'm looking forward to continue working with her and her team to create exciting new projects for the Dutch and international market”, said Pieter Bart Korthuis.
 
As part of the Fremantle Group, Fiction Valley recently adapted crime series “Suspects”, Keshet Production’s feelgood drama “The A-Word”, alongside the recent international hit Dirty Lines for Netflix. Fiction Valley’s first feature film “Jackie & Oopjen” was released in October 2020, and in 2021 produced the first Dutch Original Netflix Feature “Forever Rich”, comedy series “Deep Shit” and “Follow the STD”. The studio is also behind crime series “Mocro Maffia”, Netflix high-tech heist thriller “The Takeover”, the online coming-of-age comedy “WTF!”, light-drama series “Hockey Dads”, crime series “Sleepers” and thriller series “SiHAME”.
 
Korthuis’ other recent works include “The Year of Fortuyn”, “Fighter’s Heart” and the Dutch hit series “Penoza”, that went on to be remade in seven other countries. Korthuis also co-authored, alongside Maarten Lebens, the screenplay of television movie, “The Strongest Man”. For the last five years Korthuis has been (Co-) Chairman of the Dutch Screenwriters Guild.
