Turkish production and distribution company Inter Medya launched their new product line Mini-Series a couple of years ago. Through these Mini-Series, a new path is being forged for Turkish shows that is moving away from the traditional to a new generation of Turkish storytelling.

According to the company, streaming on local OTT platforms, these series are different from what the audience knows as traditional Turkish dramas. With their edgy as well as fast paced style of storytelling, these New Generation Turkish Series have already attracted the attention of VOD platforms in the global market.

One good example of these Mini-Series is “Naked,” which has two seasons with eight episodes each, and has been licensed to Brazil’s Globoplay, becoming one of the most watched titles of the platform. Inter Medya has also announced a deal with Thailand’s Monomax for a package of Mini-Series including “Naked,” “Interrupted” and “Tainted Love.”

Can Okan, Founder and CEO of Inter Medya, stated that the company’s next target for Mini-Series is local VOD platforms in the United States and Europe. “It is promising to witness the success of New Generation Turkish Series, especially in the regions where we do not usually license Turkish dramas. We highly believe these Mini-Series will lead us to enter into new markets such as the United States, Western Europe and Nordics,”  Okan stated.

Recently, Inter Medya attended EFM in Berlin from February 16-22 with an extensive selection of Mini-Series from various genres, from thrillers to romantic comedies. The company also presented a huge feature films’ catalogue to its business partners during the event. In particular, Inter Medya’s horror/thrillers and drama movies received great interest from buyers. Now, the company will be presenting its slate at Series Mania this month, followed by MIPTV in April.
