Jin Woo Hwang and InSoon Kim company, Something Special announce that the U.K.’s Interstellar TV has optioned the hit Korean celebrity format "Battle in the Box", marking the first format deal between the two companies. The title is a fun competition game show format in which two celebrity pairs team up to live together in a specially designed box set, where the size of living space and their budget are determined through a series of games and challenges.
Interstellar TV has produced many popular formats for the UK market including "Singletown" for ITV2 and "Show Me The Honey!" for CBBC and created original formats such as "Question Team for Dave".
Something Special's Hwang and Kim stated: “'Battle in the Box' has been such a fun show to work on and we love seeing it make its way around the world. Interstellar is a brilliant partner who’ve produced many excellent formats and we’re excited to see how they bring it to life for U.K. audiences.”
Interstellar’s Managing Director David Williams stated: "'Battle in the Box' is one of the most eye catching and compelling formats I’ve seen. Fusing the best elements and techniques of a house reality show with a game show, it’s devilishly simple but with a unique device at its heart.
