Something Special, the Seoul-based international format agency founded by Format specialists Jin Woo Hwang (President & Executive Producer) and InSoon Kim (EVP & Head of Content & Executive Producer), announced the appointment of Courtney Boyett as Senior Manager of Global Sales.
Hwang stated, “Something Special is fortunate to have hired Courtney Boyett, who will no doubt deliver great results for Something Special while representing us with her sparkling personality and expertise on the packaging. After my recent trip to MENA, we have major expansion plans on the sales arm and will be attending future markets.”
Kim added: “When I first met Courtney at this year’s Hong Kong FilMart, I was immediately impressed by her professionalism and bright character. We are pleased she can join Something Special and help take us to the next level.”
Boyett stated: “I am excited to work with InSoon, Jin and the fantastic team at Something Special and look forward to sharing their innovative formats with the content world at several markets.”
Boyett comes from the localization segment of the content industry, having recently worked in business development at Korea’s Kiwi Vine, focusing on webtoon localization, where she was also a senior webtoon editor. She began her career as a translator and researcher, being fluent in both English and Korean. She lived in the U.S. and Korea and has travelled extensively. Boyett graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Alabama’s Troy University and studied in Seoul at Inha University on an exchange program.
