ITV Studios announced one of its most recent sales for "Love Is King." The international dating show was secured by ProSieben, who licensed the working title. “Digital natives go on a romantic journey back in time to the 19th century to find their partner,” Hannes Hiller, Senior Vice President Development & Content Strategy Entertainment at ProSieben said.
“Love is King” is developed by ITV Studios Germany, produced exclusively for ProSieben, and distributed internationally by ITV Studios."Who still knows how dating works without a smartphone these days,” Hiller said. “In the dating show 'Love is King', time will turn back for our singles.”
"Love Is King" showcases millenial singles who are looking for a partner like they once did at the beginning of the 19th century, with an extravagant first date.“It's going to be very fairytale-like," Hiller said. "That's why we're delighted to be partnering with ITV Studios to show this program in Germany."
The dating show recruits sixteen millennials, who transform themselves into princes and princesses to find true love. For three weeks they live together in a dream castle and vie for the favor of the King. Those who stay for entire night earn a chance to win the title and a cash prize of 50,000 euros.
