ITV Studios Germany to produce German adaptation of "Irresponsable"

The eight-part show will be created by Frédéric Rosset, produced by Antoine Szymalka for La Pepiniere and co-produced by Emmanuel Dauce for Tetra Media Fiction.

ITV Studios Germany is in production on the German adaptation of the award-winning French comedy series "Irresponsable" for ZDFneo.“We are so happy to have adapted this great comedy series and are thrilled about the result especially due to the brilliant cast and our wonderful director," Christiane Ruff, Managing Director, said. "Thanks a lot to Tetra and their creatives for this great original. We can't wait to go on air and hopefully enchant the audience.”

Created by Frédéric Rosset, produced by Antoine Szymalka for La Pepiniere and co-produced by Emmanuel Dauce for Tetra Media Fiction, the eight-episode German version will be entitled "Like a Loser," a working title. "We are very happy about the adaptation of 'Irresponsable' on ZDFneo," Emmanuel Daucé, President of Tetra Media Fiction, said. Other roles are played by Tom Beck, Lukas von Horbatschewsky, Victoria Trauttmansdorff and others. Facundo Scalerandi is tasked with directing the scripts by Sandra Schröder and Jonas Heicks. The series is produced by ITV Studios Germany GmbH, with Peter Fröhlich and Christian Rietz serving as executive producer, and Charly Hoffmann as Junior Producer. The editorial staff at ZDF are Petra Tilger and Eva Katharina Klöcker, the ZDFneo coordinator is Carina Bernd. The scripted format Irresponsable/Beautiful Loser is distributed internationally by ITV Studios.

The storyline tells the story of, Julian (Ben Münchow), 31, has lost his job, is broke and living back with his mother Dagmar (Johanna Gastdorf). Back in his childhood bedroom, he dreams of life in the big city and a career as a musician. When Julian is reunited with his teenage sweetheart Marie (Tinka Fürst), she has a big surprise in store for him: his 15-year-old son Ernst (Diyar Ilhan). After the initial shock, Julian decides to play a role in Ernst's life, taking on all the challenges that comes with being a parent, while still behaving like a teen.
