ITV STUDIOS SIGNS MULTIPLE DEALS WORLDWIDE FOR “LITTLE BIRDS” DRAMA

The six-part series, originally commissioned by Sky in the UK, is set to debut on Starzplay, Stan, TVNZ, Lionsgate, and KT Corporation, among others.

ITV Studios announced a series of new deals for award-winning Warp Films’ new and provocative drama, “Little Birds.” “It comes as no surprise to me that the sumptuous “Little Birds” has been picked up in these multi-territory and premium streaming deals,”  Ruth Berry, Managing Director, Global Distribution at ITV Studios said.  “An assault on the senses and a gripping storyline – viewers will be mesmerized and seduced by this unique show.”

Starzplay has acquired the six-part drama in a substantial multi-territory deal for Belgium, Brazil, France, Luxembourg, Spain, French-speaking Switzerland, the Netherlands and Latin America.The Australian SVOD service STAN, alongside TVNZ in New Zealand, Lionsgate in India, KT Corporation in Korea and PCCW Media Limited in Hong Kong,  RTL in Germany, MORE.TV in Russia, and COSMOTETV in Greece, have also obtained the series.

Originally commissioned by Sky in the UK, the series received mixed reviews when it premiered last August on Sky Atlantic. It is directed by Stacie Passon, written by Sophia Al-Maria and produced by Ruth McCance and Peter Carlton. Kara Manley serves as Executive Producer for Sky Studios. The series stars Juno Temple, Yumna Marwan, Hugh Skinner, Raphael Acloque David Costabile, Rossy de Palma and Jean-Marc Barr.

"Little Birds" is based on Anaïs Nin’s erotic short stories. Set in Morocco in 1955, it shows the life of two very distinct women and their lovers. The group the becomes involded with Tangier’s ‘International Zone’. Lucy must navigate the sexual, personal and political tensions of Tangier, all while desiring a more unconventional life. Meanwhile, Cherifa Lamour, a Moroccan dominatrix famous in town, attempts to change the world around her. The series is also available in UHD.
