"The Floor"
Talpa Studios’ hit quiz show "The Floor" has now conquered its 25th territory since ITV has commissioned a local version of the show to the United Kingdom. The British adaptation will be produced by South Shore Productions and filmed at the Dutch hub. The UK version is scheduled to premiere next year.
Maarten Meijs, CEO at Talpa Studios: “The UK has an unmatched legacy when it comes to quiz shows, setting an incredibly high bar. Having ITV adapt 'The Floor' is a true testament to the format’s strength, originality, and continued international success. We’re extremely proud to enter this prolific quiz market as our 25th territory, and confident that 'The Floor' will resonate with British audiences – especially with the local flair ITV and South Shore are bringing to the show.”
Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment, Reality & Daytime Commissioning ITV said: “'The Floor', with its compelling game play, is an excellent addition to our roster of existing popular quiz shows across ITV and ITVX.”
Andrew Mackenzie, CEO at South Shore Production adds: “'The Floor' is an incredible format, its success around the world is unprecedented and we can’t wait to light it up in the UK.”
GLOBAL PHENOMENON
The UK commission further proves The Floor’s global momentum. After recent commissions to Estonia and Latvia, the show is now embraced in 25 territories. Recent incredibly strong launches in Australia, Poland and Spain have further solidified its status as a global hit.
Following the recent UK deal, Bulgaria (NOVA/United Media) has now joined the line-up as well — making it 26 territories and counting. Both new versions will be filmed later this year at the Dutch hub, as "The Floor" rapidly approaches 30 international editions. The format is created and distributed by John de Mol’s Talpa Studios.
