The animated spooky adventure series “Bat Pat”, produced by the Italian-based production company Atlantyca Entertainment, is heading to the Basque country and to the Americas.
Premiering February 24th, Bat Pat will broadcast within the Basque region with the free TV rights, 104 eps, of both seasons licensed by TVE to EiTB- Euskal Telebista-Televisión Vasca (Basque TV), brokered by co-production partner TVE; Atlantyca securing VOD rights to Hiru3 and EITB’s online and streaming apps.
EiTB is the leading media group in the Basque Autonomous Community of Spain, maintaining four domestic television channels. The channels are broadcast in the whole Basque Country, and people in nearby territories such Navarre and Pyrénées-Atlantiques (Basque area in France) can also get the signal.
The award-winning “Bat Pat” books have maintained enormous success in the region, with over 83,000 copies sold to date, the highest number of books for children ever published in the Basque Country. Published by Grupo de Comunicacion Loyola under Mezulari, 2020 will see the release of 40th book in the series.
In addition, Atlantyca has secured a partnership with VOD platform distribution company Grupa BB Media LTD, licensing the VOD rights for Bat Pat’s season 1 – in English and Neutral Spanish for US (English), Canada, Mexico and Brazil (English and Neutral Spanish).
Bat Pat is a spooky adventure-comedy for kids. The show follows the Silver siblings Rebecca, Leo and Martin as they and their winged companion, Bat Pat, encounter range of lovable, creepy characters. The group works to help the quirky residents of Fogville, unravel supernatural mysteries and show that most monsters are just misunderstood.
The first season, produced by Atlantyca with the participation of Rai Fiction and RTVE, has been sold in more than 100 countries including Italy, Spain, USA, UK, Benelux, Sweden, Lithuania, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and Middle East, where it is achieving very successful ratings.
Atlantyca Entertainment has just completed production on the second season which features 52 all new, funnier, creepier and more entertaining episodes. Bat Pat, season 2, is a coproduction with Mondo TV Producciones Canarias with the participation of Rai Ragazzi (Italy) and RTVE (Spain) as broadcasting partner.
