Sophie Ferron, President & Founder of Media Ranch announced the finalists of format incubator Horsepower 3.0. Five women and three men from Quebec began their unique TV format creation training offered by Media Ranch. The selected participants come from a variety of backgrounds, different ages and several without any experience in television. They will participate via videoconference due to Covid.

Joining in the Horsepower stable's weekly workshops over the next four months are: personal stylist Christiane Berthiaume; Italian actress Claudia Ferri;  Communications Officer at the Center for Public Health Research Elsa Olano; film student Charlotte Brassard; film production student Alexandra Paquin;  high school teacher and a storyteller of Scandinavian mythology Mathieu Ferland; specialist in animation Louis-Philippe Vachon and host of Podcast Mezanmi Robert Baziramwabo.

During 16 weeks, the members of Horsepower 3.0 will be introduced to the world of TV formats -- the different types of formats, trends in TV markets around the world, and will learn to write formats, in concise and effective language.

This edition brings in two new major French partners who joined forces with Horsepower Founders, Media Ranch and Quebecor Content - TF1 Group and La Fabrique des formats. Their contribution will enrich the experience of the participants thanks to French industry specialist, Julien Degroote, V.P. of Content Development of the TF1 Group, who will join this year with the group’s mentor, Quebecor Content’s Christine Maestracci, V.P., Acquisitions and International Distribution.

The incubation process will culminate in July with the presentation of the eight virtual "pitches" to the jury made up of 10 representatives of the four partners. The winning format then selected will be the subject of a co-development agreement as well as an international distribution agreement.
