Jorge Pezzi will join Boomerang TV in April as Chief Executive Officer, taking over Pedro Ricote and Juan José Diaz, who founded the company 25 years ago and turned it into one of the biggest audiovisual producers in Spain. Pezzi’s mission will be to expand Boomerang’s catalog with innovative and ambitious projects and strengthen Mediawan as a major player in the Spanish audiovisual market.
Jorge Pezzi founded LaCoproductora in 2018 and was its CEO until now. He combines strong creative skills in advertising, developing strategies and campaigns for key national and international brands. During his years at the helm of LaCoproductora, Pezzi also served as Executive Producer on major projects for the company which is now part of the Prisa Group, such as Movistar+’s original format “El cielo puede esperar,” La Sexta’s “Palo y Astilla,” HBO’s “Por H o por B,” Atresmedia’s “Dos años y un día,” and Flooxer’s “La reina del pueblo” (Atresmedia).
“Thanks to Pedro Ricote and Juan José Diaz, Boomerang TV claimed its strategic positioning in a growing and increasingly competitive sector to become one of the most famous production companies in all genres in Spain. Spain is a key territory for Mediawan, and we are thrilled to open a new era of creation and production of strong and premium contents with the arrival of Jorge Pezzi,” declared Elisabeth d’Arvieu, CEO of Mediawan Pictures, and Monica Galer, Chairwoman at Mediawan Spain.
“We are proud of all Boomerang TV team. It would not have been possible to build during those past 25 years such a strong expertise in fiction and non-fiction contents without them. It has been a chance to contribute and foster the development of the Spanish audiovisual industry and its growth,” added Pedro Ricote, Founder of Boomerang TV, and Juan José Díaz.
“I will strongly work to consolidate Boomerang TV’s position as one of the key leaders in Spain, creating new ambitious and international projects with our local talents at the core of it. Promoting synergies within Mediawan Group companies will also offer strong development opportunities. Thanks to Mediawan, we are a key competitive actor and a strategic partner for all creatives, and this is the major asset to foster the global development of the company,” Jorge Pezzi concluded.
