International distributor Eccho Rights will introduce the Turkish drama series "Terra Rossa" (original title: "Bereketli Topraklar") to the international marketplace at Mipcom this October, positioning it as one of the banner scripted titles in its fall slate.
"With a cast led by the incomparable Engin Akyürek and Gülsim Ali, 'Terra Rossa' blends the best of Turkish drama: passionate storytelling, unforgettable characters and world-class performances ready to capture hearts across the globe," said Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights.
Produced by Sürec Film, "Terra Rossa" is set to premiere this autumn on Türkiye’s Show TV. The series is led by Engin Akyürek, one of Turkish television’s most internationally recognized actors, acclaimed for roles in "Fatmagül" and "Black Money Love," the latter earning him an International Emmy nomination for Best Actor. He stars opposite Gülsim Ali, known for her roles in "An Anatolian Tale" and the global hit "Resurrection: Ertugrul." The ensemble cast also includes Bilal Yiğit Koçak ("For My Family"), İlayda Akdoğan ("Wild Heart"), and Sarp Akkaya ("The Oath").
Set in Adana, the narrative centers on the long-standing feud between two powerful families: the Bereketoğulları and the Karahanlıs. As Ömer Bereketoğul (Akyürek) fights to defend his family’s legacy and land, newly appointed prosecutor Nevin (Ali) enters the scene, determined to seek justice for her fiancé’s death. Their paths intersect in a volatile collision of duty and emotion, where the quest for justice and the pull of forbidden love create a complex, high-stakes dynamic.
Eccho Rights aims to leverage the global popularity of Turkish drama and the star power of its cast to drive strong international interest in "Terra Rossa," as global buyers increasingly turn to high-quality Turkish series with universal themes of loyalty, passion, and justice.
