Movistar has renewed its licensing deal with ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group which include Showtime series “Dexter”, “American Rust”, “Flatbush Misdemeanors” and “Yellowjackets,” which is set to become available on Movistar+ in Spain some time this year.

“Dexter” will return to Movistar+ in a new 10-episode limited series that will once again bring together series star Hall and showrunner Clyde Phillips, starring Clancy Brown.  Production for the show is set to begin in early 2021 in Massachusetts. “American Rust”  is executively produced by Dan Futterman, Jeff Daniels, and Elisa Ellis and Katie O’Connell Marsh for Boat Rocker Studios.

Produced by Showtime and with Clyde Phillips serving as producers, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Michael C. Hall, Bill Carraro, Scott Reynolds, and Marcos Siega, “Dexter” became one of the most acclaimed series on television, earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for best television drama series as well as a prestigious Peabody Award in 2008. “Flatbush Misdemeanors” is a new half-hour comedy created and written by Kevin Iso and Dan Perlman, who will both star. The 10-episode series is a co-production by Showtime and Avalon, executively produced by Perlman and Iso, with Richard Allen-Turner, Jon Thoday, David Martin, and Chloe Pisello on behalf of Avalon.

In the original eight-season run of “Dexter,” which premiered in the fall of 2006, Dexter Morgan, a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department is also an American serial killer. “Flatbush Misdemeanors” is a raw comedy of city life following Dan and Kevin, who play characters struggling to thrive in their new surroundings in the brash environment of Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Based on Philipp Meyer’s celebrated debut novel of the same name, "American Rust" is a compelling family drama that will explore the tattered American dream through the eyes of complicated and compromised chief of police Del Harris in a Rust Belt town in southwest Pennsylvania. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, “Yellowjackets” is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become survivors of a plane crash in the wilderness. The series showcases how they recover from the traumatic event.
