SkyShowtime has commissioned its first original project in Poland, the original series "Sleboda," an adaptation of the crime novel, that will mark the streaming services expansion of locally produced originals as part of its continued commitment to provide exclusive programming that resonates with local audiences across its markets. "Sleboda" is a Polish series based on the first part of the critically acclaimed series of crime novels by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński will be produced by Magdalena Szwedkowicz ("Forgotten Love") and directed by Michał Gazda ("The Pack, Forgotten Love").
SkyShowtime's Chief Content Officer Kai Finke showed the company's commitment to generating content with local impact: "After less than a year since the launch of our service in Central and Eastern Europe, I'm thrilled to announce that we are commissioning our first Polish original series, "Sleboda." With this show, we are marking our continued commitment to delivering high-quality local entertainment to our members," noted.
SkyShowtime launched last year launched with ten originals in its first year of operation. So far 2024, the company has announced four more original programs. The platform is available to consumers via the SkyShowtime app across Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices, Android TV, Google Chromecast, LG TV, and Samsung.
