Movistar Plus+ announced that the shooting of “Segunda Muerte,” its new original series, began this September in several locations in Cantabria, Spain, with Georgina Amorós and Karra Elejalde leading a large cast. The show is created in collaboration with DLO Producciones, and will be distributed in the international market by Movistar Plus+ International.

“Segunda Muerte” is a thriller starring a police officer (Georgina Amorós), whose father (Karra Elejalde) is a recently retired and highly respected inspector. She will find herself involved in a criminal investigation in a quiet village in Cantabria. The title was featured on Wednesday, September 20, at the Santander Film Festival, with the presence of Karra Elejalde, the creator of the series Agustín Martínez, director Álex Rodrigo, and producer Susana Herreras (Movistar Plus+).

“We always try to work with the best talent and, in this case, with Agustín Martínez we had not been able to do it before. It came to us thanks to José Manuel Lorenzo and DLO Producciones. At Movistar Plus+ we love thrillers where the characters and the locations are very important. The script that came to us from Agustín was just different. We rarely find scripts with that quality of character development, and where the location is that important for what is being told,”  Susana Herreras said.

“‘Segunda Muerte’ is different from previous works I have been in, such as ‘La Casa de Papel,’ especially because of the angle of approach to the story. The first exercise I like to do is get into the skin of the viewer. In ‘Segunda Muerte,’ the angle from which the viewer sees the series is emotional. The relationship of the characters transcends the plot. There is something that fascinated me from the first reading of the script. We live a fascinating intrigue about a criminal plot involving a corpse, but there is an engine of suspense and tension above all,”  Álex Rodrigo commented.
