The Spanish original series from Movistar Plus+, "The New Years" ('Dieci Capodanni' will be its Italian title), will be available exclusively on RaiPlay, the digital platform of Italy’s public broadcaster, starting January 31, 2025, with the release of the first five episodes. The remaining five episodes will be released on February 7. The show is an original Movistar Plus+ series in collaboration with Caballo Films and in association with ARTE France.

The series returns to Italy, where it first gained international recognition through its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. "The New Years" was created by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Sara Cano, and Paula Fabra and directed by Sorogoyen himself, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2019 for the short film "Madre" and has won two Goya Awards for Best Director for "The Beasts" and "The Realm", as well as a César Award from the French Academy for 'The Beasts'—alongside Sandra Romero and David Martín de los Santos.

"The New Years" stands out for its unique narrative style. Each episode captures a snapshot of Ana and Óscar’s relationship, unfolding on a New Year’s Eve and telling not only their love story but also the evolution of their personalities over time. The series explores ten crucial years in their lives, from their 30s to their 40s—a transitional period where one can either hold onto youth or grow up quickly. With a realistic and contemporary approach, the story delves deep into the protagonists' emotional journeys, aiming to create a deep connection with the audience. It also introduces a metanarrative element: Ana and Óscar observe different couples in each episode, offering viewers an intimate and authentic perspective. The show tells the story of Ana, who turns 30 on New Year's Day with her life still unresolved. She lives in a shared apartment, dislikes her job, and frequently changes friends. Óscar turns 30 on New Year's Eve with his life nearly figured out, and he is a dedicated doctor with loyal friends and an on-again, off-again relationship. The night they turn 30, they meet, fall in love, and begin a relationship marked by ups and downs spanning ten years.
