Newen Connect names Andrew Sime Head of Format Sales

Reporting to the company's EVP of distribution, the executive joins to help strengthen the company's production partnerships, format sales strategies, and slate of unscripted formats.

Newen Connect has appointed Andrew Sime as Head of Format Sales. “I am delighted to welcome Andrew to the Newen Connect team. Andrew’s experience in formats is very extensive as is his knowledge of the international marketplace,” Leona Connell, EVP Distribution of Newen Connect said.

Set to report to EVP Distribution, Leona Connell, Sime will work alongside various partnering production companies, including Tuvalu, De Mensen, and Izen, and the company's broadcaster partner/shareholder TF1 to strengthen its international potential and slate of unscripted formats. 

The executive will also oversee all of Newen Connect's factual entertainment and entertainment formats around the world. In addition, he will work with Newen’s existing sales team to develop the company's scripted format sales strategy to monetize new and existing IP. 

Before this, Sime was VP Formats at Banijay Rights, and his previous experiences included roles at global Agency, Sony, and Endemol International. “Newen Connect is growing rapidly and we needed someone as experienced as Andrew to work closely with our producers, the programming team at TF1, and our existing sales team,” Connell said. “We look forward to taking Newen’s growing activity in format sales to the next steps.”
