Night Train Media teams up with Submarine and Zero Gravity for "Safe Harbor"

Night Train Media, Submarine and Zero Gravity have announced the lead casting for the returning action thriller series "Safe Harbor," commissioned by, and developed with anchor broadcaster Videoland in The Netherlands and Belgium’s Streamz. Night Train Media will be tasked with financing and controlling worldwide distribution rights. "We are really proud to have such a great team onboard, from across the globe, all working together to create a unique crime thriller," Executive Producer for Submarine, Femke Wolting, said. "One that explores the distinct and rich worlds of cutting-edge crime and the iconic Rotterdam & Antwerp ports. To have Mark Williams, Arne Toonen and a cast as talented as we do, this will make the show must watch TV."

Mark Williams, creator of the Primetime Emmy award winning series Ozark, will contribute to the project as both writer and showrunner with Emmy and Tony nominated actor Alfie Allen, critics’ darling Charlie Murphy and Jack Gleeson. Executive Producing alongside Femke Wolting for Submarine and Mark Williams for Zero Gravity are Night Train Media’s Herbert L. Kloiber, James Copp and Adam Barth. Production begins today with delivery expected in Q3 2024. Also joining the cast is the Dutch prospect Martijn Lakemeier. Acclaimed Dutch director Arne Toonen will be directing the series together with Mark Williams. “Bringing together such stellar international talent from the UK, US and Europe has been incredibly exciting," Kloiber said. "This show has always felt completely fresh and new: speaking to a youth that are disappointed with the old- school structures of the world and want to seek their fortunes however they can.”

The series follows gifted hacker Tobias (Allen) and his ambitious best friend Marco (Lakemeier), intent on cracking into the tech billionaires club. Marco and Tobias are plucked from quiet obscurity and plunged headfirst into the chaos of organised crime when they cross paths with the Irish mob. Leading the family’s operations in Holland are Sloane (Murphy) and her brother Farrell (Gleeson) who enlist Tobias’ and Marco’s services to hack into the security system of Rotterdam harbour — Europe’s largest shipping port — in order to secure the undetected deliveries of drug shipments. "At the core of this exciting, edge of your seat series is a family of friends who find themselves in dangerous, life-changing situations with some very bad players who force our heroes to challenge themselves and each other to grow as people," Night Train Media CEO Herbert L.
