Powerkids Entertainment inks raft of new broadcast deals

Deals include a partnership with Canal Plus, where it has extended its rights for Powerkid’s flagship franchise, “The Jungle Book” series, and its spinoff series, “The Jungle Book -Safari,” for French-speaking Europe and Africa.

Powerkids Entertainment has announced that it has concluded a series of broadcast deals for a host of shows from its content catalog, comprising its own IPs and a collection of highly acclaimed third-party titles. Deals include a partnership with Canal Plus, where it has extended its rights for Powerkid’s flagship franchise “The Jungle Book” series (Seasons 1&2: 104x11’ and 2 TV specials 1x60’ & 1x32’) and its spinoff series “The Jungle Book -Safari” (Season 1: 26x12’) for French-speaking Europe and Africa.

MBC has also partnered with Powerkids for the Middle East and North Africa, acquiring rights for Powerkid’s brand-new show “Dragonero- Tales of Paladins” (Season 1: 26x22’). Moreover, TVNZ has acquired “Dragonero- Tales of Paladins” series (Season 1: 26x22’) and “The Psammy Show “series (Season 1: 52x11’) for New Zealand. Astro has picked up Rights for Malaysia for “The Jungle Book” series (Season 1: 52x11’ and 2 TV specials 1x60’ & 1x32’). Finally, HKTVE has acquired “Wissper” series (Seasons 1 & 2: 104x7’) for Hong Kong.

Other deals include Shemaroo TV, which has bought rights to “The Jungle Book” series (4 Seasons: 156x11’ & 78x7.5’) for India; and Unique TV has acquired “The Jungle Book” series (3 Seasons: 156x11’) and “The Psammy Show” series (Season 1: 52x11’) for India. Chie Media has also partnered with Powerkids, where it has acquired “The Jungle Book” series (3 Seasons: 156x11’ & 1 TV Special: 1x60’), “Lassie” series (Season 1: 26x22’), “The New Adventures of Peter Pan” series (2 TV specials: 1x65 & 1x42’) for India.

Finally, ETV has picked up Rights for “The Jungle Book” series (4th Season: 78x7) and renewed its Rights for “The Jungle Book -Safari” (Season 1: 26x12’) and “Robinhood” series (2nd Season: 52x11’) for India. Tata Play has also acquired “Jungle Book” series (3rd Season: 52x11’) for India.
