Rabbit’s "City vs Country" new season gets record ratings in Finland

The long-running game show has returned with a total of 682,000 viewers and smashed its own series premiere record.

Season 6 of "City Vs Country", the Rabbit Films' long-running game show has premiered on MTV3 Finland in the highly competitive Saturday night 9pm slot (21.1.2023), with a total of 682,000 viewers. At the +7 days figures, which take the total amount of views to 1.4 million. "City Vs Country" season 6 also smashed its own series premiere record of 498,000 overnight viewers from season 5.

The amount of viewers equates to a whopping 42.3% Share in the 4+ demo and a 36.1% Share in the key 15-64 commercial target group. MTV3, which is Finland’s largest commercial broadcaster, has a 17% primetime slot average, so "City Vs Country" overperformed by an incredible 150%. The show was a surprise hit with the 15-24 year-olds, where it scored an unheard-of 59.3% Share. It also averaged a Total Rating of 12.8% compared to the Channel Average of 5.5%, which is an 130% uplift.

These figures not only qualified it to be the slot winner, but also the broadcasters most watched entertainment series of the week.
"City Vs Country" has been a staple in the MTV3 primetime schedule since its induction in 2017. The series has consistently performed extremely well, with particular success in re-runs, where it regularly outperforms first-run series.

The series has featured on the Most Watched Shows of the Year lists each year, with the previous two seasons ranking #5 and #2 respectively.
