Factual content distributor Quintus Studios announces Brazilian broadcasters ZDFinfo and Record TV have acquired the 1 x 60’ pilot episode of "Red Zones", a documentary series that takes viewers on a journey into the heart of the world’s last remaining untamed frontiers.

"Red Zones" (4x60’) is a series produced by Fredrick Gillingham, that reveals there are still fragile territories which defy development and continue to operate outside of law and order. The pilot episode is shot in the Philippines. Although touted as a paradise in tourism brochures, a darker reality exists along its coastline. Impoverished locals are compelled to engage in dangerous activities like gold mining and wildlife trafficking to survive, fuelling an illicit economy and causing ecological damage. Red Zones documents the hidden dangers of the Philippines coast.

"Red Zones" was greenlit as a Quintus Original - where Quintus Studios develops and funds its own unscripted TV projects via a disruptive producer partnership model which sees indies and freelance producers investing into projects in return for a greater revenue share, speeding up the commissioning process and awarding producers larger potential commercial revenues from projects in the longer term.

"We're very excited that 'Red Zones' was picked up so quickly by these esteemed broadcasters giving us the opportunity to produce the remainder of the series” said Anouk van Dijk, Head of Sales and Co Productions at Quintus Studios.
