Plano a Plano Bilbao and Dynamic Television have revealed the first images from the psychological thriller "Innate", which began filming in Madrid last week. The preview was presented during the Next From Spain showcase, organized by ICEX at Series Mania. During the event, it was confirmed that a major pre-sale deal for the U.S. territory has already been closed and will be officially announced soon. Netflix will serve as the broadcast platform in Spain.
The presentation featured Esther Agraso, Head of International at Plano a Plano; Dan March, Managing Partner at Dynamic Television; Miguel García, Sales Director at Atresmedia; and Silvia Cotino, Head of Sales at Mediaset España. The panel was moderated by Irene Jiménez, co-founder of the industry outlet Audiovisual 451.
Dan March emphasized, “Our decision to come on board 'Innate' was driven by an exceptional story—an original and gripping thriller, a first-class cast, and the trust we have in Plano a Plano, a production company with a stellar reputation.”
Esther Agraso added, “The business model behind this project—financed through pre-sales, incentives, and distribution MG—is very appealing for us as producers. It allows us to retain full ownership of the series and secure future revenue from international sales.”
"Innate" is a Plano a Plano Bilbao production, created by Fran Carballal ("Cicatriz", "Una vida menos en Canarias") and Enrique Lojo ("En fin", "Una vida menos en Canarias"), and produced by Innato La Serie AIE in association with Dynamic Television, which also handles international distribution. The series marks Dynamic Television’s first foray into Spanish-language content, expanding its portfolio of premium international dramas.
In "Innate", twenty-five years after Sara discovered that her father was a killer, a new death appears to be linked to his past crimes. The psychologist’s quiet life unravels when she starts to suspect that this time, the killer isn’t her father—but her own teenage son.
The thriller (8x45’) stars Elena Anaya ("The Skin I Live In", "Wonder Woman", "Rifkin’s Festival") and Imanol Arias ("Cuéntame cómo pasó").
The series is executive produced by César Benítez, Emilio Amaré, Álvaro Benítez, Fran Carballal, Dan March, and Carrie Stein, and directed by Lino Escalera ("Hamburg", "Can’t Say Goodbye", "Australia", "Elite") and Inma Torrente ("Valeria", "The Envoys"). The writing team, led by head writer Fran Carballal, includes Enrique Lojo, Pablo Roa, Verónica Marza, Fernando Sancristóbal, and Pablo Manchado.
