Dynamic Television has optioned the rights to "The Kingdoms of Savannah", the critically acclaimed Southern Gothic crime novel by renowned author, George Dawes Green, with prolific writer Sheri Holman ("George & Tammy") penning the pilot script and attached as showrunner and EP. Daniel March and Carrie Stein will produce for Dynamic.

"The Kingdoms of Savannah" takes audiences on a wild ride through the hauntingly beautiful, yet treacherous landscape of Georgia. The story unfolds on a balmy Southern night at the local watering hole, where a murder and mysterious disappearance set the stage for an unlikely detective - the doyenne of Savannah society, Morgana Musgrove. Morgana is an imperious, demanding, and conniving woman, whose four grown children are weary of her schemes. But one by one she cajoles them into helping her investigation, and soon the family uncovers some terrifying truths that will rock Savannah’s power structure to its core.

"'The Kingdoms of Savannah' ticks all the boxes: unforgettable characters that will attract top talent, a complex crime story with twists and turns, and a setting that will transport audiences to a world dripping in secrets, history, and sweltering Savannah heat," said Carrie Stein, President of Global Scripted. “We are thrilled to have the super talented Sheri Holman on board to adapt this riveting story into many seasons of television to come.”

“George and I have been telling stories together for over twenty-five years, so to bring his singular masterpiece of a novel to television feels like going home,” said Holman. “I'm thrilled to be working with this stellar Dynamic team and can't wait to introduce TV audiences to Morgana Musgrove, a detective as compelling and contradictory as Savannah itself."

“I’ve loved Sheri Holman’s delicious and demonic and fiercely original storytelling since her first novel, 'A Stolen Tongue'. I think no one alive could take better care of Morgana Musgrove, and I’m thrilled that she’s working with the visionaries at Dynamic to keep embroidering this world,” added Green.
