Talpa Studios’ adventure game show “Hunting Season” has found its fifth major broadcast commission outside the Netherlands. Spain’s Atresmedia has acquired the rights to the show. In addition, the company's "The Quiz with Balls" has been recomissioned by SBS6, along with a winter special.

“Hunting Season” is based on the most successful and most awarded YouTube series in the Netherlands. A primetime weekly version of the quiz show is set to air on Atresmedia’s online platform Flooxer in 2024. “‘Hunting Season’ is an original, fast-paced and addictive format,” Carmen Ferreiro, Entertainment Program Director at Atresmedia, said.  “We believe it will work very well with younger audiences.”

“We are thrilled to see that this genuine format continues to travel. It’s a fast-paced hunt that happens in the real world, in real-time, with real bystanders - absolutely anything can happen,” Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios, said. “I’m sure that the exciting cat-and-mouse game will also keep the Spanish viewer on the edge of their seat.”

This is the title’s fourth season acquired by the network, with Amazon Prime securing a next day second window. The first season scored an average market share of 20% in the key demo, the second season reached a 30% in the key demo 20-49 which is three times the slot average.

The deal for "The Quiz with Balls" includes a total of four year-end episodes in the making, where the set will be transformed into a winter wonderland. The four specials will air on SBS6 on the 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th of December.

In “The Quiz with Snowballs,” celebrities compete with their team members for a substantial cash prize for charity.  “Big balls, big ratings. That was the conclusion of the first season of the summer-themed fun quiz show “The Quiz with Balls,” that kept so many Dutch viewers glued to their screens,” the producer states. “It will come as no surprise that SBS6 has already ordered a second season.
