Tulipop Studios has announced that further episodes of its original 2D animated TV series, "Tulipop Tales", are now in production following the strong ratings of season one. A full 52 x 7’ episodes have now been greenlit, with a raft of sales also announced from the show’s global distributors, Serious Kids.

The first season of the series (13x7’) launched in Iceland in February to great success, notching up double the views per day of the Icelandic broadcasters’ previous most popular kids show. Series 2 launches in Q1 2023, with series 3 & 4 to follow in Q4 2023. The "Tulipop Tales" series is produced by Tulipop Studios in Iceland in collaboration with Spanish animation studios Amuse Studios and Tomavision.

Serious Kids have sealed deals with a raft of global broadcasters, including NRK Norway, YLE Finland, MBC Middle East, Tele Quebec Canada and Showmax South Africa.

Helga Árnadóttir, CEO & Producer, Tulipop Studios, said: “We are delighted with these new broadcast deals that provide children across the globe the opportunity to discover the wonders of the Tulipop world and its inhabitants. Through innovative story telling using our varied landscapes and lovable characters, our goal is to help teach kids the importance of friendship, diversity and creativity, in a way that sparks curiosity, creative thinking and interest in nature.”

“Tulipop is a colourful, magical world with diverse characters and with delivery of 52 modern fairytales now in sight we hope to secure more deals at MIPCOM,” added Genevieve Dexter of Serious Kids.

Aimed at upper preschool audiences, the series’ goal is to teach kids important life lessons through engaging and entertaining adventures. Written by a strong team of Icelandic and international writers, and head written by Sara Daddy ("Claude"), the series is developed in partnership with Dr. Natascha Crandall, Educational Consultant.
