Unifrance announced the winners of its TV Export Awards

Federation, Mediawan Rights and Newen Connect received prizes for their original creations at the Unifrance TV Export Awards, which recognize the world’s best-selling French TV programmes.

On February 8, Hervé Michel, Vice President of Unifrance, and Sarah Hemar, Deputy Executive Director of Unifrance in charge of Audiovisual & Digital, presented the 2022 Unifrance TV Export Awards. This year, they were once again awarded at the opening of the PROCIREP French TV Producer Award ceremony. Since 2004, these awards have recognized the world’s best-selling French TV programmes.

The Unifrance TV Export Awards demonstrate the appeal of French creations in the animation, documentary and fiction genres. That appeal continues to grow, as shown by the latest study conducted by the CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée) and Unifrance, which noted that exports of French TV programmes hit an all-time high in 2020 despite the health crisis, with a financial flow of €354.8 million, the highest in 25 years.

“These awards offer a new opportunity to spotlight the interest that French programmes generate internationally. Importantly, they also highlight the incredible work of French distributors, which Unifrance supports every day. Well done to the teams at Federation, Mediawan Rights and Newen Connect, who brought three remarkable original creations to the attention of people around the world,” said Sarah Hemar and Hervé Michel.
