Universal Cinergia Dubbing will be hosting a Gala event in January 2024 to celebrate the success of Turkish content in Latin America and worldwide. The details for the event, set to be part of the official calendar of Content Americas 2024, were confirmed by Liliam Hernandez.
The Turkish Drama Gala will be held at Temple House, a luxury venue that was originally built in 1933 as a synagogue and since then has been renovated and transformed into a stunning event space that features 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space. It will gather executives from Latin America, Turkey, Spain, USA and US Hispanic, including broadcasters, distributors, channels, content producers, writers, actors from the successful productions, press and industry colleagues. The event will have the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Miami, the Turkish Chamber of Commerce, and will be sponsored by Turkish Airlines, among other sponsors.
The Gala will be hosted by the distinguished journalist Lourdes Stephen, who co-hosts Telemundo`s acclaimed newsmagazine “Al Rojo Vivo”. With a successful career in Hispanic TV, the award-winning journalist Lourdes Stephen co-hosts Telemundo’s acclaimed afternoon news program “Al Rojo Vivo” bringing viewers from coast to coast an hour dedicated to current affairs, entertainment, technology, and lifestyle content. Lourdes She journalistic work has been
synonymous with authenticity, truthfulness, and professionalism since her arrival in Univision, where for more than 15 years she covered a variety of topics interviewing world leaders, artists, and many public figures.
The musical attraction selected for the celebration is Murat Evgin. An established Turkish composer & singer with a 25-year-old career, Murat has been the composer of of several successful Turkish TV series, including Back Streets which holds the record for being the longest running Turkish TV series with 18 seasons. In 2017 Murat Evgin became the 1st Turkish composer on Netflix US with the factual series Myths & Monsters. His music is heard in more than 40 countries and his Turkish songs are memorized by Latin American kids who watch the Turkish series.
Turkish Actors will also be highlighted at the event. Sponsored by Global Agency, Baris Kilic Baris made his television debut in 2004 with his role as Aybars in "All My Children." He became popular for his roles in renowned Turkish series such as I Named Her Feriha, and later with significant roles in Forbidden Fruit and One Love. Yigit Kocak will also be recognzied. Leading talent from "For My Family," the actor born in 1995 received various acting training after graduating from Samsun Anatolian High School. He started acting in 2017 with the TV series Seni Kimler Aldı. Later, he starred in the TV series Kimse Bilmez and Gel Dese Aşk. Yiğit Koçak meets millions with the character of Ömer in the TV series Kardeşlerim, one of the most watched TV series broadcast on ATV. Lizge Comert – Young actress known for My Siblings (2021). Lizge is the leading talent in For My Family.
The event will pay homage to Turkish content by showcasing a diverse display of productions that have had a significant impact and influence on the industry. It will shine a spotlight on the achievements of gifted writers, producers, directors, and actors who have played a role in the triumphs of the Turkish audiovisual industry. Their hard work and dedication have helped make Turkish content a force to be reckoned with in the global entertainment industry. It will explore the evolution of Turkish content in Latin America since its launch in 2013 with the title “1001 Nights." Alongside the display of outstanding Turkish drama, the event will feature a Recognition Award Ceremony to pay homage to all the professionals who have contributed to this success story.
