ViacomCBS International Studios announced the launch of a new children's content division with the appointment of Nina Hahn as Director of VIS Kids, in addition to her role as Senior Vice President of Production & Development of Nickelodeon International. "I am honored to lead VIS Kids and plan to establish deep, diverse, and inclusive roots in children's content,” Hahn said. “This release furthers our firm's model of creating specialized divisions with centralized leadership, to ensure that we can make the most of the strategic opportunities that support the continued advancement of VIS."
Hahn, based in London, will report to Juan “JC” Acosta, President of ViacomCBS International Studios and ViacomCBS Networks Americas, while continuing to report to Jules Borkent, Executive Vice President, Children, and Family, VCNI. VIS is a global leader in the development and production of premium content for all platforms, genres, and formats. The launch of VIS Kids enables the expansion of children's content globally, expanding its content offering to include short- and long-form content that will be produced and sold to third parties in addition to ViacomCBS brands and platforms.
As director of VIS Kids, Hahn further develop VIS's children's content business, expand its global presence and lead the search and of originals within the animation, live-action, and preschool genres by aligning closely with the studio's production and development teams in Latin America, the UK, Spain, and Israel. Hahn will work closely with colleagues nationally and internationally, along with a core team spanning development and production, international sales, and distribution. “VIS has a strong presence in the kids' category with hit series like Club 57 and Noobees, so we feel it is time to launch our own children's division of ViacomCBS International Studios," said JC Acosta.
During her time at Nickelodeon, Hahn contributed to the organization's first global hub for content sourcing and creation, and has started unique projects in markets such as China with Deer Squad, a co-production with iQiyi; Israel with Spyders, Nickelodeon International's first original co-production with Ananey Studios; and India with The Twisted Timelines of Sammy & Raj, the brand's first collaboration with Viacom18. Hahn has incorporated more than 2,000 hours of original content for the children's brand and has led company-wide efforts such as Nickelodeon's first global writers show, as well as the brand's first global short show.
VIS currently has 30 series in production and 50 more in development, with an average revenue growth of nearly 50% since inception, and the launch of VIS Kids will ensure continued revenue growth while serving as the cornerstone for the study's plan to develop more than 30 new programs. for children for the next three years.
