Viaplay launched its subscription channel on Prime Video in the USA

It´s through Prime Video Channels in the US. In this way, Prime Video customers can access to the leading offering of premium Nordic and European series and films.

Viaplay Content Distribution will launch the Viaplay channel as an add-on subscription on Prime Video via Prime Video Channels in the United States. In February, Viaplay closed its own app and direct to consumer streaming service in the US and Canada, and now focuses its international distribution strategy in building growth via partnerships. The Viaplay subscription channel is already available in North America through partner platforms such as Comcast Xfinity, The Roku Channel and Xumo, with additional markets coming soon.

The offering focuses on the Nordic region’s high-quality and psychologically penetrating series and films, from atmospheric and suspenseful crime dramas and provocative and stylish young adult series to award-winning dramas and riveting documentaries. Subscribers can access to thousands of hours of premium Nordic and European content. Next, let's review some of the main titles.

Let's start by taking a look at the Nordic Noir and Crime Dramas"Face to Face" is an intense interrogative drama; "Fenris" includes mysterious disappearances in a wolf-inhabited forest; "Trom" is a mystery set in the picturesque Faroe Islands; "Detective Maria Kallo" is a police procedural based on the bestselling book series; "DNA" is a Danish police drama co-starring Oscar-nominated actress Charlotte Rampling, and "Black Sands" is a dark, popular Icelandic mystery. Additionally, all three films from the renowned "Millennium/The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy are included.

When it comes to young adult series, "Threesome" and "Delete Me" are provocative dramas. Additionally, there will be LGBTQ+ short-form series like "One of the Boys". The dramas continue with "The Architect", the award-winning dystopian dramedy starring Eili Harboe (Succession); the International Emmy-nominated "The Dreamer", and the Swedish series "Limbo".

FInally, in the realm of documentaries, notable entries include "The Most Remote Restaurant in the World", detailing the nearly impossible journey of a chef to set up shop in a remote location; "Crime Scene Sweden", offering a look at infamous Swedish murders; and "Liv Ullmann: A Road Less Travelled", an intimate portrait of the legendary actress.
