VICE Media Group announced the creation of VICE Studios Group, a content studio composed of a distribution catalog of over 1,000 hours and five premium production entities: Pulse Films, UnTypical, VICE Studios LatAm, VICE Studios Canada, and a news documentary unit. The studio will be led by newly appointed co-presidents Jamie Hall in London and Danny Gabai in Los Angeles. Working with global broadcasters, linear broadcasters, and brands worldwide, it will develop, finance, and produce content across multiple genres.

Bruce Dixon, CEO of VICE Media Group, said: "Leveraging the strengths of our production companies under the VICE brand creates a powerful offering for producers and talent creating content that transcends the boundaries of traditional film and television. Jamie and Danny are the right leaders to drive the studio business and lead our incredibly talented teams."

Danny Gabai and Jamie Hall, co-presidents of VICE Studios Group, commented: "The creation of VICE Studios Group positions us for growth, offering unique opportunities for talent and fostering collaborations while staying true to each company's strengths and content legacies. We have over 20 productions currently filming or in post-production, spanning scripted dramas, non-fiction, news, branded, and music, giving us a solid portfolio and much to be excited about."

Pulse Films will continue producing both long and short-form content spanning commercials and music videos, scripted films and TV series, and music documentaries. The company's roster of directors will continue to focus on filmmakers and talent. Their recent credits include “Gangs of London”, currently in its third season for Sky and AMC+, the feature film “Bad Apples” starring Saoirse Ronan, “Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now” (Netflix), and “Victoria's Secret: The Tour 23” (Amazon).

UnTypical is the new name for the production company formerly known as VICE Studios. The company will focus on documentaries and global formats, working with auteurs and ensuring unique access to provide viewers with a different perspective. Their previous works include “Bama Rush”, for MAX, “ESPN 30 for 30: The American Gladiator Documentary”, the Netflix series “Encounters”, and the Sean Penn-directed documentary “Superpower”, in collaboration with VICE News.

VICE Studios Canada is the premium production entity based in Canada, focusing on factual format series servicing broadcasters like “VICE TV” and “Crave” from Bell Media. The company has produced several series for the Dark Side franchise, including five series of the wrestling sensation “Dark of the Ring” and “Dark Side of Comedy”, the full-length documentary “Qanon: The Search for Q”, and “Tales from the Territories”.

VICE Studios LatAm is dedicated to highlighting Latin American and LatinX stories, specializing in documentary series and other unscripted formats. The studio is behind Netflix’s “1994” and “La Divina Gula” (“Heavenly Bites”). Later this year, VICE's first original series and format, “Lucha De Antojos” (“Street Chefs”), will air on ViX.

The group also includes a long-form news documentary team. They will produce premium current affairs documentaries and non-fiction series, with quick turnarounds and a contemporary lens on everyday events.

Jamie Hall, who has been with Pulse Films since 2018, was most recently Chief Operating Officer of scripted content, based in the company's London offices. Under Hall's leadership, Pulse Films' scripted division has expanded with a robust development slate, acquiring the rights to the award-winning debut novel “An Olive Grove in Ends” by Moses McKenzie and the Sunday Times bestseller “The Perfect Girlfriend”, and bringing to life series like the Sky and AMC hit “Gangs of London”. Hall previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Frank Spotnitz's Big Light Productions and Head of Business Affairs at Eleven.

Danny Gabai previously served as Head of Content at VICE Studios, where he played a pivotal role in building the production company from the ground up to encompass VICE's feature film productions, premium scripts, and documentaries. Gabai has produced multiple award-winning feature films, documentaries, and television series, including the Academy Award-nominated and BAFTA-nominated animated documentary “FLEE”; Emmy-nominated Netflix documentaries by Chris Smith, “Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened”, and “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond”, and the Adam Driver-starring film “The Report”. Prior to VICE, Gabai was a film agent at WME Entertainment and William Morris Agency.
