The VSI Group has completed the first phase of renovations for its Mexico City based facility, with planned expansions to increase the studio footprint and offer clients expanded dubbing capacity throughout 2023 and beyond.

VSI first established operations in Mexico City in 2020, following the acquisition of Argentina based VSI CIVISA the previous year. The company has significantly invested in this region, acquiring VSI Vox Mundi in February 2021, solidifying its place as one of the largest global localization providers in Latin America.

The modern facility in Mexico City was constructed from the ground up to the highest international specifications. It occupies over 1,400 square metres and houses 11 state-of-the-art recording and mixing rooms. Phase two of development includes plans to upgrade to Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment and add additional studio rooms to this spacious facility. Since its opening, the team has served some of the largest content producers in the VOD, theatrical and broadcast space, and continues to ramp up capacity to support their ongoing needs.

As part of this move, Alejandra Valdez recently joined the company as Managing Director for VSI Mexico City, working in close partnership with Guillermo Patiño-Mayer, CEO of VSI Latin America. “I am excited to join VSI as Mexico City’s Managing Director and to collaborate with the great local and international teams. My aim is to drive growth, build strong relationships with our partners and ensure the success of VSI Mexico City in the localization and media industry,”  Valdez said.

“I am delighted to welcome Alejandra Valdez. Her skills and experience are a great addition to the team in Mexico City, and her values strongly align to those of VSI. I believe she will enable us to further develop, both locally and in the region, supported by our studios in São Paulo and Buenos Aires,”  Guillermo Patiño-Mayer added.

Meanwhile, Cornelia Al-Khaled, COO at VSI Group, commented: "We are very proud to further expand our impressive portfolio of studios across the VSI Group with this extensive renovation and expansion at VSI Mexico City. Our increased capacity in Latin America is a direct response to the increased demand in the market and to our strategy of further growth. Beautifully designed and meeting the highest acoustic and technical specifications, our facility in Mexico City is in line with the rest of the VSI Group’s exceptional facilities worldwide in terms of production values, structure, technology and security. We are happy to welcome Alejandra to lead our talented team in this exciting phase of development."
