The VSI Group, a media localisation provider, announced two new members of its executive team, Chris Rego as Chief Financial Officer and Carmen Cerdan as Chief Human Resources Officer. Rego joins after the passing of VSI’s previous CFO in late 2023 and Cerdan joins the company in the newly formed CHRO role, which supports the ongoing investment in leadership and company growth.

Rego brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new position. Before joining VSI, he was the CFO at Miroma Group, the marketing services agency, for over a decade where he drove their financial transformation and global growth from a single, UK-based business to a full-service, global agency. He started his career at BDO, working in their audit and corporate finance teams where he was involved in a wide range of AIM IPOs, acquisitions and MBOs over his eight years there. He will be based at VSI’s headquarters in London.

Rego expressed joy towards the new stage of the company:I am excited to join VSI and help them on the next phase of their journey. Norman Dawood, VSI’s founder, has built a great company over the last 35 years and I look forward to working side-by-side with Mark to accelerate our growth and footprint" shared.

On her part, Carmen Cerdan previously spent 25 years in Human Resources working at both local and global levels, most recently leading the HR team at Ria Money Transfer, an international leader in cross-border payments. Ria’s activities spanned five continents and she was responsible for the HR function for all 5,000 employees. She will be responsible for ensuring the right balance of global consistency and local nuance across all of VSI’s people and culture activities. The exec will be based in VSI’s Madrid office.

Cerdan celebrated the company's long-term vision: I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join VSI in this new role. VSI has always focused on local excellence and quality and I can tell that it is driven by its people. The creation of this new global role is an acknowledgement that having a great workforce is imperative to long-term success," stated.

FInally, VSI CEO Mark Howorth provided further detail about the hiring of the two executives:“As VSI continues to grow in scale, service offerings and geographies, our financial needs and processes are becoming more complex. Chris brings the right mix of skills to bolster our agile, global financial process and evolve our strategy as our balance sheet needs expand. It is also important to continue to strengthen the integration of our worldwide operations. The glue that makes that happen is our HR process, and I am delighted that Carmen will be leading the evolution of our culture. We are pleased to have someone who led the HR function at a much larger, high-growth company. She brings her significant experience to VSI and will be a mentor to us as we go through a similar trajectory," explained.
