ZDF UNVEILS NEW “AFRICA FROM ABOVE” SERIES

The 10-part factual show, produced by Off The Fence Productions, has received over 80 awards of recognition. ZDF, ARTE, ORF, and BBC-owned UKTV all serve as distributors for the production.

ZDF Enterprises has initiated filming of the new landmark factual series, “Africa from Above,” currently in the works.“This production will capture Africa in a way that has never been seen before, using the latest technology, airborne and on the ground. The 10-part series is produced by Off the Fence Productions and various other renowned co-producers with ZDF Enterprises serving as lead contributor and global distributor. Alongside the German distributor on the production are ZDF, ARTE, along with Austrian public broadcaster, ORF, and Britain’s UKTV, owned by BBC Studios.

Bristol-based, Off the Fence Productions is an award-winning producer of factual television and is a subsidiary of ZDF Enterprises. Their creative team has been recognized by more than 80 awards, which include  Royal Television Society, Emmy, Golden Panda, and Grand Teton.

The 52-minute episodes analyze Africa’s spectacular people, places, and wildlife, displaying  mountains, coastlines, waterfalls, and jungles. The show captures the lives of the continent’s unrivaled wild animals, as well as towns and cities to explore the history, architecture, industry, and unique cultures. Traveling to Ethiopia and other popular regions, it showcases how communities live in such extreme weather conditions.
