NETFLIX STARTED SHOOTING ITS FIRST RUSSIAN DRAMA SERIES

Netflix has announced the start of filming of the first Russian drama series "Anna K." “We are extremely honored to start working on the first Russian Netflix series,” Anna Nagler, Director, Local Language Originals, CEE and Russia, said. “It’s thrilling to start production in a new and exciting region for us and we hope our project will appeal to viewers around the world. We’ve teamed up with excellent Russian talents and are excited to announce a bright team of actors.”

The series will feature a Russian cast including previously announced leading actress Svetlana Khodchenkova, Fedor Bondarchuk, Yuliya Aleksandrova, Yuriy Kutsenko, Yuriy Borisov, and others. The cast members come from various sorts of professional backgrounds. 

Bondarchuk and Fedor are both well-known Russian Directors, TV hosts, and producers, while Yuliya Aleksandrova will play Darya ‘Dolly’ Oblonskaya a comedic actress who starred in over a dozen popular Russian comedies including the hit “Gorko!.” Popular Russian film and theater actor, Yuriy Kutsenko will play Stepan ‘Stiva’ Oblonsky, and Yuriy Borisov will play Konstantin Levin. Yuriy is the only Russian actor with two films in the leading role selected for the Cannes Film Festival 2021 stars. 

Alexander, set to be played by Alexander Tsypkin. He has experience as a Russian celebrity writer and columnist, a recent release based on Tsypkin’s book — Unscrupulous series. Dasha Vereshchagina will play Ekaterina ‘Kitty’ Shcherbatskaya and Tatiana Dogileva as Agathya Mikhailovna. The actor who will play Vronsky, a man who draws Anna towards him with irresistible passion and charm, has yet to be announced.
