Paramount + to debut premium and ad-tier plans in Germany, Switzerland and Austria

Global streamer expands its multi-tier subscription strategy within Europe with premium tier launch in GSA on March 26 and advertising tier coming in summer.

Paramount+ announced the upcoming launch of two new subscription tiers in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.Following the successful launch of Premium and Ad-Supported tiers in Canada, Australia, the UK, and the Republic of Ireland, starting March 26, the Premium plan will join the Standard plan in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. It offers consumers long-awaited top-notch video quality like 4K UHD, HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos on select titles, plus concurrent streams on up to four devices at once.

This summer, the Basic (with ads) tier will debut, bringing ad-supported streaming to the German-speaking markets at a competitive price enabling streaming on one device at a time, in full HD. Advertisers will benefit from the ad-supported tiers, gaining access to a broad audience and exclusive content for ad placements and engaging marketing opportunities.

Marco Nobili, Executive Vice President and International General Manager for Paramount+ highlighted the platform's competitive offering: “Paramount+ is seeing strong international subscriber growth as fans in markets around the world come to our service for hit series from ‘Landman’ and ‘Happy Face’ to ‘SpongeBob’ and ‘Star Trek. New subscription models are reshaping the streaming industry, giving consumers more choices to enhance their experience at different price points. We are already seeing strong adoption with non-standard plans accounting for nearly half of direct-to-consumer sign-ups in Australia, Canada, the UK, Brazil, and Mexico. I am confident we will see continued momentum as we expand our multi-tier options in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria," explained.

This multi-tier approach gives viewers more options and flexibility to enjoy Paramount+ content including upcoming highlights like “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,” Paramount+ Original Series “Dexter: Resurrection,” “Happy Face,” starring Annaleigh Ashford and Dennis Quaid, among others; “Mobland,” the highly anticipated new series from Guy Ritchie, starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, among others, debuting on the platform in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on May 30; as well as the new European original series that was presented at Berlinale this year, “Parallel Me,” alongside the streaming premieres of blockbuster movies “Gladiator II,” available on the platform in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria starting May 28, “Transformers One” and “Smile 2,” plus a raft of premium content spanning kids’ and family favorites, reality hits, and much more.
